I CAN’T BREATHE WITHOUT GOD. Job 33:4 – “The Spirit of God has made me and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” Job truly knew how much he needed God. If you ask any Christian today they would tell you “Yes, I need God.” This is a part of one’s confession. We all need God, but many don’t truly know in heart how much they REALLY need Him. If you knew how much you need God to breathe, walk, talk, and do everything, you would not have certain occasions for prayer. Remember, break in prayer would mean a break in faith and a break in faith is a break with God. The situation we face as Christians does not offer us any alternative apart from faith in God, but because of our ignorance in the things of the Spirit, we are not able to determine the degree to which we actually need Him. This causes us to drift and go astray from the Divine purpose of God for our lives. God is not far from those who worship Him in truth and faith. Job knew this and that is why he fell down and worshiped in the midst of his trial (Job 1:20-21). The duty of prayer is founded upon the sufficiency of God – I mean, He has all we need; that is why we pray. Further Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Daniel 6:10 Acts 16:24-25
