BE CALM AND DETERMINED Have you ever felt as if you were between a rock and a hard place? Have you ever felt as if you were in the middle of a storm and the waves and winds wanted to overwhelm you? Sometimes in life, it seems as if the world around us is coming to an end. It is in critical situations like this that we know a man of faith, a true Christian, a true born again. The quality of faith is not measured by our attitude to God when the goings are good but when times are hard, I mean, when our fate seems to hang in the balance. Job 23:10, “But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” When trouble comes, keep calm and be determined. Even if you suffer humiliation, be patient and wait on the Lord. Remember, gold is tested by fire and human character is tested in the furnace of humiliation. Gold is not valued until it is tested; if gold must be gold, it must pass through fire. As a Christian, when you are humiliated by any foolish thing, keep calm and be determined. What you are passing through today may be to reform you for a better position in Christ or to prepare you for a higher level in life. Therefore, let your mind rise and seek the things that are above so that you can be comforted in the presence of sorrow, hardship, pain, setback and failure. For a man or woman of faith, when trials come, there is always a future. When you have Jesus in your heart, He remains in your heart forever. Make Him your Friend in life, your Comforter and Saviour.
